Am I competing in the right
division? Did my instructor/parent/guardian/friend help me to register in
the correct division for my rank and level of competition? With so many
divisions it happens more often than not that a competitor finds himself
competing in the wrong division only after the competition in that division has
already begun. This happens even in the various styles in the black belt
divisions.
It is the responsibility of the
competitor and their instructor to make sure that each competitor has signed up
for the correct division. Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Musical Weapons,
Traditional Forms, Contemporary Forms, Extreme, etc.. The center judge and
ring officials only need to review the competitors entrance chit supplied by the
competitor when calling out for the specific division. Therefore, if the
competitor signed up for the wrong division and refuses to compete, his having
signed up for the wrong division may lead to being disqualified and therefore
would not be entitled to a refund.
Note: If there is any confusion as
to which division you should register with, it is always best to confer with a
tournament official who will be more than happy to assist you in registering
accordingly.
